Thomas Walker, in his own words |
| If he could speak to us today, Thomas Walker might describe his life as follows. |
 |
|
My wife, Barbara, and I were parishioners of Abingdon Parish, Gloucester County, where the births of three children were recorded in 1704, 1706, and 1711. |
I paid quit rents, a form of tax, on 300 acres in Abingdon Parish in 1704. Since no county records remain from Gloucester, I can tell you nothing more of me. |

We have been unable to identify Barbara Walker. Two women named Barbara were born in Abingdon Parish: Barbara Rogers, a daughter of John Rogers, 25 Aug. 1681, and Barbara Chamberlain, a daughter of Moses Chamberlain and his wife, Elizabeth, 23 Oct. 1690. Nothing suggest either were Thomas’ wife. |
